# Downloads

The last binaries prepared were these pretty out of date ones. You may
need to decompress *(gunzip FILE.gz)* and make them executable *(chmod +x
FILE)* before running them.

Remember you can always [build hledger yourself](../MANUAL.html#installing).
Binaries you can download and run can save you a lot of hassle, but
they are time-consuming to make and support so I now build them for
financial donors on request. This is a great way to give back and help the
hledger project! -Simon
